LIMBA RAM
Limba Ram is a remarkable Indian archer having added medals to the Indian tally at various international events. Born on 30th January, 1972 in Saradeet village of Rajasthan, he grew up in a poor family belonging to the Ahari Tribe. At a very young age he had started to hunt birds like sparrows, partridges as well as other animals in the jungle with his indigenous bamboo bow and arrow. In 1987, his uncle brought the news that the government is conducting trials for archers in the nearby village, this is where a 15 year old Limba Ram was spotted by the selectors of Sports Authority of India. Thereafter, he was sent to the training camp in Delhi under the coaching of RS Sodhi. During his career he represented India at three Olympic games.
