Gautam Gulati: Life post Bigg Boss Halla Bol win

Gautam Gulati was all set to make his big Bollywood debut with Udanchoo, playing a scamster who romances Brazilian model, Bruna Abdullah and newcomer Saisha Sehgal. But nine days after the Big Boss Season 8 winner launched the film, he walked out of it for an Ekta Kapoor project. And now, Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 5 winner, Rajneesh Duggal has replaced the Diya Aur Bati Hum star, reports Mumbai Mirror. "I was approached for the film four months ago but I did not have any dates available since I was busy shooting for Beimaan Love with Sunny Leone. Later, I heard that Gautam had signed the film. But when things didn't work out with him, I was back on track," Rajneesh was quoted in the report. The con-caper will see the former model sporting over 10 different looks, while he romances his two leading ladies, the report added.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Bigg Boss Halla Bol winner Gautam Gulati has signed two films post his victory, but neither of them is with Farah Khan. "I play a con man in the first which rolls on April 1. And a film director in the second, which I will shoot for simultaneously from April 20. They are both comedies," Gautam was quoted in the report. The actor, who became a household name with Star Plus' daily soap Diya Aur Baati Hum, added that he will also be locking a three-film deal with a big banner this month and has bagged a supporting role in a film which will release in 2016. "I have just 40 minutes of screen time, but I couldn't resist signing the film because of the leading lady," Gautam said to Mirror.

However, Gautam denied rumours about collaborating with Farah Khan, saying, "Farah ma'am and I share a close bond. She was the one who declared me the 'Bigg Boss winner' and recently invited me on her food show, Farah Ki Daawat, with Alia Bhatt. I am like her bachcha, but I have not signed a film with her yet."

From playing a character role in the daily soap Diya Aur Baati Hum to emerging as one of the most loved contestants of Bigg Boss 8, Gautam Gulati is currently small screen's blue eyed boy. The TV heartthrob says that it's a great feeling and he is now connected to the entire country.

"Trust me, it's a great feeling and can't be expressed in words. I remember going through this feeling when I had passed out of my 12th standard scoring good marks. But this time it is way beyond it. I suddenly feel connected to the entire country as I can see the love flowing from all sides. Everyone wants to meet me, click pictures with me, talk to me. Now, I just want to do good work and not just become another Bigg Boss winner," expressed Gautam.

When asked about his equation with his co-contestant Karishma Tanna, he says, "I don't know what is wrong with Karishma. She was so nice to me during the last weekend but her entire attitude changed when I was announced the winner of Bigg Boss Halla Bol. She started behaving cold with me and was wierd. Even during the after-party, when I tried to talk to Upen she literally dragged him away from me. I think she was just pretending to be nice in those last few days. She was not at all happy with my win."

When asked to explain his journey inside the Bigg Boss house, Gautam says, "I wanted to entertain people inside and outside the house. But during my journey inside the house, I faced many ups and downs. After my first fight with Karishma, I saw things slipping out of my hands as I am a very emotional person. But soon I decided that I will try to be happy no matter what happens with me. And this attitude of mine started helping me because others who were targeting me suddenly realised 'how can he remain so calm even after being provoked to such an extent'. But I continuously made an effort to control my temper. And I succeeded in getting rid of my temper each time. There were so many instances when I went out of my way to diffuse tension in the house."

Now that Gautam is out of the house, we quizzed him about his relationship with his 'good friend' Diandra Soares. He says, "Diandra is a friend and she will always remain one. We lost our plot in between but we can't blame anyone for it. There was an attraction between us and we kissed each other. There was nothing to hide about. We became dabangg and kissed on national television in front of everyone. If a girl kisses me what do I do? I can't reject it. It would be rude. So I kissed her back. I realised there is an Emraan Hashmi inside me. But besides friendship, there can be nothing between us. She is older than me and I don't want to see tears in her eyes. She has supported me a lot during my Bigg Boss journey but she will always be my friend."

Gautam was not happy with the allegations made by Pritam that his win was due to the PR machinery that was set by his brother. He says, "I don't think Pritam should have said this. It is very wrong of him. Is he saying that the love I am getting through the entire country is due to my PR machinery? When I was inside the house, my brother was just supporting and tweeting in my favour and people kept re-tweeting in my favour. This doesn't mean that I have hired a PR machinery. But if he thinks like that, then I can't change his thinking."

The actor, who was considered as one of the most entertaining contestants of Bigg Boss season 8, says that he will now focus on a career in Bollywood and TV will take a backseat for him for some time. "Everyone dreams of being a Bollywood star and I also want to do good films. TV has given me everything. Whatever I am today is because of TV, but now I want to focus on a career in Bollywood. I have got many offers and I will start considering them once I am free. My fans have supported me and showed a lot of interest in me and I don't want to let them down. I will choose a good script which will make them feel proud of me," concludes Gautam.
