Handsome and charming, Gautam Gulati, who rose to popularity by winning 'Bigg Boss' season 8 turns a year older today. On his special day, let's take a look at some interesting facts about the birthday boy.

Gautam Gulati was a Shiamak Dawar student: We often witnessed Gautam’s amazing dance steps in 'Bigg Boss' during his stay in the house. However, not many are aware that Gautam was dance guru Shiamak Davar's student. Like Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and many others, Gautam also learnt dancing from Shiamak Davar’s Dance Academy.

He walked Cannes red carpet: Before making it big on the small screen, this Delhi boy acted in a short film, 'Darpok'. In this film, Gautam played a 28-year-old man, who lives under trauma for not being able to prevent his mother from being raped, when he was a child. The film was screened at the prestigious Cannes film festival. He was the first Indian TV actor to have walked the red carpet.

He acted in a film, Buddha: For the 'Bigg Boss 8' winner, Gautam Gulati there has been no looking back after he won the show. His career is going great and he will soon be seen in Emraan Hashmi starrer, 'Azar'. However, not many know that Gautam also acted in a blockbuster film, 'Buddha' in Sri Lanka. He played the role of Devadatta in the film.

Gautam Gulati played a gay: Very few must know that Gautam Gulati once played a gay character in a TV show. Yes! You read it correct. Gautam Gulati, last seen in Star Plus' 'Diya Aur Baati Hum', had played a gay character in Star One's 'Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani'. Gautam was introduced as a powerful industrialist, Shaurya, in the show. But the character unexpectedly turned out to be a gay as the story moved ahead. He later quit the show as the story progressed.

Gautam worked behind the cameras: Like many others, Gautam has also had his share of ups and downs. Before bagging prominent roles in daily soaps, he worked behind the camera in many films including some of Salman Khan's. He worked in Salman's film Veer.

He has an elder brother: People often mistake Gautam's elder brother, Mohit, with him. Gautam's brother Mohit, is his spitting image, who is based in Delhi. His brother was quoted in a The Times Of India report before the 'BB8' finale, saying, "I am not his twin, I am older to Gautam by a year-and-a-half. This is not the first time I am drawing unwanted attention. People confuse one for the other. They often ask me when I got evicted from the house. It's funny. I just hope Gautam doesn't get evicted and goes on to win the show."
