Intel-powered Xolo X1000 launched

PANAJI: Xolo, the brand behind the first Intel-powered smartphone, has launched its next Intel-based device Xolo X1000, at a launch in Goa on Thursday. The X1000 joins a growing portfolio of mobile devices running on the Intel platform.
On the processor front, the Xolo X1000 is powered by an Intel Atom Processor Z2480 which incorporates Intel’s Hyper-Threading Technology and boasts speeds of 2.0 GHz, promising to provide users with a fast multi-tasking Android experience.The smartphone is also equipped with a 400 MHz Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to enable full 1080p HD video encoding and playback for an immersive gaming and video experience.
The unibody phone encases a 4.7-inch HD display with a resolution of 312 pixels per inch (ppi). The X1000 has an 8MP camera with advanced imaging capabilities like a burst mode, and has a 1.3MP front camera too. It also packs 1 GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory which is expandable upto 32 GB with a memory card.

With Xolo X1000 and its 2.0 Ghz Intel HT processor, users will get to experience an entirely new definition of speed and performance.”
The phone runs the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, but Sehgal said an update to Jellybean will be available early next quarter.

The Xolo X1000 carries a price tag of Rs 19,999 and is expected to be available through retail channels from March 20.
