To mark the 20th anniversary of its first flip phone, Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro, a limited edition smartphone

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro takes inspiration from the SGH-E700, a flip phone introduced by Samsung in 2003. The SGH-E700 was also Samsung's first phone to feature a built-in antenna. “This innovation, coupled with the phone’s widespread popularity, played a pivotal role in advancing Samsung’s position in the mobile phone industry,” said Samsung in a press release.

Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro: AvailabilityThe Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro will be available in limited quantities in select countries, including Korea, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Australia. Customers in these countries can exclusively purchase this iconic device through Samsung's official website, making it a must-have for collectors and tech enthusiasts alike.

There’s no word on whether the phone will launch in India or not. However, in the past, we have seen several limited-edition phones from Samsung not making it to the Indian market. So don’t hold your breath for the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro coming to India. Interestingly, Samsung is not launching the limited-edition phone in the US as well. Samsung hasn’t revealed the price of the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro either, so it might cost same as the ‘regular’ Galaxy Z Flip5 phone.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro incorporates distinctive features of the SGH-E700. This includes the indigo blue and silver colour scheme, a user experience design inspired by the pixel graphics of the 2000s, and an exclusive animation on the Flex Window that features a nostalgic cityscape.

Customers who purchase the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro will receive a unique package that includes three Flipsuit cards featuring logos from different eras of Samsung's history, a Flipsuit case, and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number, enhancing the device's collectible value.
