Realme rolls out January 2023 OTA update for several devices

Realme has mentioned that the OTA update is being rolled out in phases and users will receive a push message to download it. Initially, this upgrade will be rolled out to a select group of users. Later on, it will be distributed widely to more users.

Chinese smartphone maker Realme has started rolling out a new OTA Changelog update for January. This new update will offer several new features, optimized network compatibility, and will provide system stability. The devices for which the latest update has been rolled out include -- the Realme GT 2 Pro, Realme 9 Pro + 5G, Realme 9i, Realme GT Neo 2, Realme 8 5G and Realme 8 smartphones along with the Realme Pad and the Realme Pad X tablets.These devices which were launched between April 2021 to April 2022 are now receiving the January OTA changelog update. The company has also confirmed its commitment to offer regular and timely updates to its devices.

Realme has mentioned that the OTA update is being rolled out in phases and users will receive a push message to download it. Initially, this upgrade will be rolled out to a select group of users. Later on, it will be distributed widely to more users.
Apart from this, users can also check their phone or laptop’s Settings section to look for updates. To check that, users have to enter the settings section and navigate to the About Phone section. Here they can find the System Update option and by clicking there, users will be able to see if the update is available for them.
New additions with the update: Device-wise changes
This update will integrate the January 2023 OTA update for the Realme GT 2 Pro and will also fix an issue where the phone might restart unexpectedly. For Realme 9 Pro+ 5G and Realme 9i, this update includes the Android security patch and claims to improve system performance.

The update will also include the security patches for Realme GT Neo 2 and fixes a similar issue to the Realme GT 2 Pro. Meanwhile, the tablets -- the Realme Pad and the Pad X will not only get the December Android patch with this update but it will also fix some known issues and will improve system stability. Apart from this, the update will also help Realme 8 and Realme 8 5G smartphones to optimise system performance and improves system stability.
