Indian Air Force is giving you a chance to be Abhinandan and fight 'enemies'
NEW DELHI: To encourage youth to join the Indian Air Force (IAF), a new smartphone game called "Indian Air Force: A Cut Above" has been launched. The game is available on both Android and iOS for free. The game is developed by Delhi-based Threye Interactive. The company had made a similar game for the IAF in 2014 which was called “Guardians of Skies”. The new IAF game is similar to the older Guardians of Skies game including controls and graphics. However, the developers have added a new storyline along with some gameplay changes.
The new game allows players to simulate missions similar to the one wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman was assigned in February this year. Gamers will have the option to use a wide range of IAF warplanes while playing. There are 10 missions in total to try out in the game.
The game supports online multiplayer gaming too in which different players can compete against each other in the game. “Multiplayer game will have two modes – a squad vs squad where players team up, and a free for all, where the last man standing will be the winner,” explained the developer. The multiplayer mode is expected to be available later.
Apart from flying fighter planes, gamers will also get the chance to go on missions “as aid to civil authorities in the form of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief.” To add more thrill to the game, the developers have given the option to use long range missiles in the game as well.
If you happen to complete the new game, you can also try the older “Guardians of Skies” game of IAF. There are other additional 10 missions featuring various IAF roles. The older game offers eight missions in which a country named 'Zaruzia' (in-game name) went on a full-fledged air war with India and gamers were given the chance to simulate all operational missions.
