Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports by user-submitted errors on its platform, also shows a spike in reports of Amazon outages in India. Multiple users also reported outages at Amazon Web Services, the company's cloud services unit. The reports, however, were fewer as compared to the e-commerce website.

Several users posted screenshots on Twitter showing that their "items are waiting" in their carts. One user claims that the message, "Sorry, we are experiencing unusually heavy traffic. Please try again in a few seconds'' has been on display for "over an hour now."

“It’s definitely a server issue on their side. I didn’t even get the doggo 404 error which would have made it slightly less annoying. Slightly,” claimed a user.

Some even went on to claim that Amazon “has been down for at least 12 hours” for them.

A few tweets suggest that the problem is global because a similar message was displayed to users in the UK, Canada and Puerto Rico.

The event also started a meme fest on Twitter. A few people started posting jokes about how Amazon is handling the issue. The company is yet to release a statement on the same.
