College students Aakarshini and Srushti hail from different social backgrounds. Aakarshini is brought up by her poor mother, whereas Srushti comes from a rich family, yet they both stay together. Over time, their relationship grows amd they ‘fall in love’, even wanting to marry each other. The love birds are then expelled from college after a video of them in a compromising situation starts making the rounds. Once the issue becomes public, Aakarshini decides to live with her mother, which infuriates Srushti. What course does Aakarshini take to get out of the trouble? Does she live with Srushti or will she lead the life her mother wants for her?Best Friends is Sandalwood's first lesbian movie inspired from a true incident, but it fails to make the right impact. The subject may be out of the box, but it fails to tick all the boxes to keep one captivated. If it had all the commercial elements with right screenplay it would have made a difference. Watch it at you own risk.
