Director Devaraj Palan has selected a good story with dramatic sequences. A complete commercial movie, Hara has romance, action and sentiment. But the movie is too long and needs to be trimmed by 30 minutes. Hara (Vasanth) is born in jail to a convict mother, who dies after giving birth to him. The jailer (Avinash) adopts Hara and brings him up along with his son and daughter. The plot takes a turn when Hara kills the jailer’s brother (Ramesh Pandith). He is sent to jail. When he is released, the jailer and his family tell him to stay away from them. However, the jailer’s wife (Vinaya Prakash) has a soft corner for him. Circumstances force Hara to take on the local goons. He overpowers them and saves the jailer’s daughter from their clutches. The audience is in for a surprise when it is revealed that it was not Hara who killed the jailer’s brother.Vasanth has delivered an impressive performance. Sharan’s comic role fails to make an impact. Avinash, Dharma and Vinaya Prakash have done justice to their acts. Music by Jessie Gift and camerawork by KM Vishnuwardhan are good.
