Climax Movie Review {2/5}: Critic Review of Climax by Times of India

Story: The film which is based on the life of Silk Smitha traces the mystery behind her death.Review: Climaxneed not evoke comparisons to Dirty Picture although both films narrate the life of a sensuous screen siren named Silk Smitha. Climax confines itself to a limited realm, where the focus is more on what led to her tragic end than her steep rise and fall in cinema. For this reason, the events transpire rather swiftly. Sana Khan - who plays Supriya (whose character is based on Silk Smitha) is shown draping her polished skin with a dark, crumpled half-sarees in a slum. The next scene switches over to a beach where she would emerge from the waves and this time her skin gleaming in bright sunlight. Suresh Krishna arrives as a rich businessman with a lovely glint in his eye. A romance ensues and it gets complex when his son also shares the same feelings for Supriya. The result is a drab flow of maudlin segments where the film settles into a predictable track and wobbles on. There are some timid skin shows and patchy song-sequences. Sana Khan is hardly convincing while portraying the role of an erotic star who had a turbulent life.
