5 natural ways to heal your body from within

Your body is designed to heal itself. It just needs the right support from you. While medical care is essential when you’re unwell, everyday habits such as how you move, breathe, hydrate, and rest can really determine how your body functions, even before illness enters the picture. Here are five natural ways which can heal your body from within and restore what modern life quietly takes away. Take a look.

2/6

Get sunlight

Most people today, reach for their phones even before they completely wake up. They open their eyes to digital screens, which really messes up the whole cycle. Instead, wake up to the morning sunlight. The sunshine will reset your body’s internal clock. This way, your melatonin rises at the right hour and your sleep architecture stays intact. Your body will produce serotonin upon seeing the natural light, which will improve your mood, focus and also bring a sense of calmness. Spend some time outdoors every morning. Get at least 15 minutes of sunlight.

3/6

Lift weights

Want to age like fine wine? Start lifting weights. Resistance training is crucial for longevity. This increases insulin sensitivity, strengthens your bones, and also improves brain health, and protects against cognitive decline. You don’t necessarily need a gym membership for this. You can do these workouts at home. Train three times a week.

4/6

Walk after meals

Here is a simple way to avoid rapid glucose spikes following a meal. Walk. Yes, you read that right. Walk at least 10 to 15 minutes after your meals. This will blunt the sugar spikes. The sugar spikes, over time can lead to inflammation, insulin resistance, and energy crashes. You can make this simple practice a part of your routine. Walk a few minutes after your lunch and dinner. It will also help with your metabolism, digestion, and will also help you sleep like a baby at night.

5/6

Drink water

Your body needs water to function. If you have been struggling with fatigue, headaches or lack of focus, take hydration seriously. Dehydration can affect your kidneys, liver, and even lymphatic system. Start your day with a glass of water. Drink water before your morning coffee. Keep sipping water throughout the day. Your brain, heart, liver, kidneys, and even the bones will thank you.

6/6

Practice deep breathing

Stress has become an inseparable part of our daily lives. Deep breathing exercises can lower cortisol levels, reduce stress and anxiety, and slow heart rate. Deep breathing practice triggers the rest and digest response, which helps you feel more at ease. You can also try box breathing. It’s simple; four counts in, four counts hold, four counts out, four counts hold. Practice this for five minutes a day, and you will feel your stress leaving the body.
These simple habits over time will make you healthier, and keep diseases at bay.
