Woman orders resin pendant from Temu, gets smelly dog's tooth instead

We all have faced online scams and frauds. Many cases of people being deceived by online shopping platforms come to light. Bella Moscardini, a UK resident, shared her experience on TikTok. She ordered a leather necklace with a plastic tooth from Temu, a Chinese e-commerce platform, for 57 pence. She placed this order to wear it with a costume. However, when she unboxed her order, she noticed a foul smell coming from the box. After doing some research, she discovered that the resin tooth was, in fact, a dog tooth.

She said in her TikTok: "I bought this necklace on Temu. It was for a costume. Long story short, my friends and I were going as Woodstock hippies for a costume day at my school. Originally, this tooth thing was hanging on the end. I checked on the Temu website, and it does state that it's resin jewelry. I am a jeweler, and we work with resin a lot—it's like a strong glue. This is nothing like resin."

She added, "I am taking it off today because I keep getting a whiff of a strong stench from this tooth on the end. It smelled disgusting, and the resin is scentless. If you have ever ordered anything from Temu, 9 out of 10 times it's plastic, and that's what I was expecting."

Bella showed the product description, which read: "1 PC Vintage Style Men's Multi-Layer Braided Faux Leather Necklace with Resin Pendant." She explained: "You can clearly see it is described as a resin pendant. I will put more pictures so you can see it."

She also mentioned, "It's weird how each and every pendant on this slide is completely different. It's crazy—they look like they have been taken from different teeth." Bella added, "It could just smell bad, maybe it was sitting in a room with something else. So I burnt it with a lighter, and oh my God, it's not melting, and the smell is really bad. I have double and triple-checked—it smells disgusting. It literally looks like a dog's tooth."

In the end, Bella claimed in her TikTok that most of Temu's products are made of plastic, which she had expected. However, it blew her mind when she realized the pendant was a dog’s tooth. She warned her followers to be cautious and avoid getting scammed like her.
