Woman claims ‘plastic’ came out of boiled eggs ordered online; video sparks outrage
A simple kitchen video has suddenly blown up on social media. A woman shared what happened when she boiled some eggs she ordered online, and now people can’t stop talking about it. What looked like a normal cooking moment quickly turned into a big food safety debate.
Shalini Sharma posted a video on Instagram showing the eggs she had bought. According to her, something was seriously wrong with them. The clip has now gone viral, and many users are questioning how safe packaged eggs and online grocery deliveries really are.
In the video, Shalini shows the boiled eggs, and they don’t look normal. Instead of a regular yolk inside, there are yellow thread-like strands coming out. She claims it looked like plastic.
In the video, she says, “Until now, we had only heard that fake eggs or plastic eggs were being sold in the market, but today I witnessed an example in my own home. I ordered Eggoz Everyday brand eggs from Zepto, and as soon as I put them on to boil, instead of yolk, plastic started coming out from inside.”
She then points at the eggs and says, “You can see in the video yourself, plastic is coming out in the form of noodles. Each egg has the Eggoz Everyday stamp on it. Look at how plastic fake eggs are reaching our homes.”
She also sounds clearly worried in the clip. She adds, “This is what we are buying today. If they had been cooked in another way, we might not even have realized we were consuming plastic. These boiled eggs burst, and that is how we found out it was plastic. If this is the condition of such big brands today, what is even left safe to eat?”
Her video quickly caught attention. People started tagging the egg brand and the delivery app in the comments.
As the video spread, many users demanded answers. Soon, Eggoz replied in the comment section under her post. The company wrote,
“We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and completely understand your concern. This is not the kind of situation we ever want our customers to face. Kindly DM us your contact information, and our customer support team will connect with you to resolve this at the earliest. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.”
Even after the brand responded, the conversation didn’t slow down.
Many users said this was worrying and raised concerns about health risks. Some even tagged the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), asking for an investigation.
Now, the video has turned into something bigger than just one order. People are talking about food quality, online grocery safety, and whether proper checks are really happening.
As the clip continues to circulate, many are waiting to see what explanation or action comes next.
