Woman blends every meal and eats by snorting food through her nose
A blender, not a fork, sits at the centre of Kathryn’s daily routine. Every meal she eats, breakfast, lunch, dinner, is reduced to liquid and inhaled through her nose. It’s a habit she traces back to a college dare, one she never stopped, and one now laid bare in the returning season of My Strange Addiction.
The long-running TLC series reportedly returns in January, and its first trailer has already deeply unsettled viewers. Among the cases featured, Kathryn, from Virginia, notably stands out for the sheer permanence of her behaviour. She no longer entirely chews food at all. Instead, she blends full meals and snorts them, quietly describing the ritual as routine rather than performative.
Kathryn, described in the programme as a “serial food snorter,” abandoned chewing entirely after being dared to inhale food through her nose while in college. She now prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner by blending them into a liquid and snorting the mixture.
Her episode follows her as she prepares to tell her new boyfriend, Alex, about the habit, unsure how he will respond. The trailer shows her admitting the addiction on camera as viewers watch his reaction unfold.
The first look prompted immediate responses online. One viewer wrote: “Snorting all of her food?! What the f***?” Another added, “There has to be a reason this happens to people I’m curious how and why.” A third commented: “Half of them are gonna die if they keep it up.” Another reaction read: “I don’t wanna judge, but man you make it hard! I wanted to throw up.”
The premiere episode also features Wendy, from Florida, who has eaten raw meat daily for most of her life. She reveals the habit during a barbecue with her fiancé’s family, where it is met with visible discomfort.
Her loved ones voice immediate concern. “I’m about to throw up,” one person says on camera, while another tells her, “It’s a little hard to accept someone who eats raw meat.” Wendy pleads for understanding, but the trailer suggests she struggles to win support.
Other episodes this season include Anthony, who eats make-up products after a background in theatre; Carlos, who consumes live bugs despite his partner’s objections; Sarah, whose relationship with an AI chatbot boyfriend unsettles her family; Kaylyn, who forages and eats grass to cope with childhood grief; Socratis, a military veteran living with PTSD who keeps more than 100 snakes; and Tajah, whose long-term thumb-sucking has caused skin damage and affected her dating life.
Responding to the show’s return, a senior executive at TLC said: “Over the years, My Strange Addiction has built a passionate fan base that never stopped talking about it, sharing the most viral moments, and asking when we’d bring it back. The new season delivers everything people love about the series. It’s bold, surprising, and completely unforgettable. TLC is proud to continue showcasing the stories that endlessly captivate audiences, with the real and extraordinary human experiences you truly cannot find anywhere else.”
