Why has 'Mohan Weds Pooja' been trending at #1 on X: Netizens question origin of the viral phrase
X (formerly Twitter) is one app most users are guilty of opening first thing in the morning. If you have scrolled through the app in the last two days then you must have seen a peculiar phrase trending at the top: 'Mohan Weds Pooja'.
In a space where one or the other politician or actor is viral, a wedding hashtag has gained traction. Now, netizens want to know why: “Who are they? And why are we all suddenly invested in their wedding?"
Interestingly, the mystery of why the whole of the internet is emotionally invested in the couple lies in an interesting love story. Mohan, known digitally as '@Lil_monu' is a software professional in Delhi and allegedly the "man behind countless trending campaigns" if comments are to be believed. Pooja is believed to be a fashion professional based in Mumbai.
As per a post quickly gaining traction on the app, the couple first met at a coffee shop in 2023 in Mumbai. Mohan accidentally dropped his laptop, Pooja picked it up and joked: "This isn't coding, it's heartbreak."
The meet-cute was the beginning of their relationship which transformed into love over the course of the next two years. Mohan proposed to Pooka on his knees in the rain. "Pooja laughed and said – “Yes, but the wedding has to trend on X! Now, both of their wedding is happening on 12 May 2026 at a palace in Udaipur," said the post.
"Now, this was the only trend left to follow.." added another.
However, others have been rejoicing in the union of two people in love.
"Oh man! Mohan and Pooja's love story is even more romantic than a movie. The journey from the coffee shop to the Udaipur Palace totally touched the heart. Hearty congratulations to both!" wrote one.
"Heartiest congratulations to them— these days, where on earth does anyone even find love?" asked one.
