Who was Sadhvi Prem Baisa and why is her sudden death raising questions?
Sadhvi Prem Baisa, the beloved storyteller whose words had the power to light up spiritual gatherings across western India, passed away suddenly on January 28. Her sudden death at her Jodhpur ashram left her devotees reeling - grief, shock, and a lot of unanswered questions. This isn’t just a personal loss; it’s a mystery that’s got people talking.
She was rushed to Preksha Hospital on Pal Road, but Dr Praveen Jain, the director, confirmed she had arrived “brought dead.”
Hospital authorities followed protocol, alerting the Shastri Nagar police and recommending that the body be taken to MDM Hospital for formalities. But the family first took her back to the ashram. Sub-Inspector Hemraj from Boranada police station arrived, sealed her room, and later that night, her body was finally moved to MDM Hospital for a medical board post-mortem.
Police have taken the compounder who gave the injection into custody and seized all his medical equipment for inspection.
Rajasthan MP Hanuman Beniwal also spoke up, calling on Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the state DGP to investigate what he called “Prem Baisa’s death under suspicious circumstances.” He added, “A high-level investigation should be conducted into this matter.”
It went on: “I am bidding farewell to this world forever, but I have complete faith in God and the revered saints and sages. If not in my lifetime, then after my death, I will surely receive justice.”
Police are now investigating access to her accounts to see if the post was scheduled or published by someone else, NDTV reported.
This isn’t the first time Prem Baisa made headlines. About six months ago, a video of hers went viral in which she accused a former staff member of blackmail. The clip, which showed her hugging her guru-father, sparked its own wave of harassment claims.
Her sudden death, her eerie post, and the shadow of past controversies have combined to leave devotees and observers alike with more questions than answers

The eerie social media post
Around 9:30 pm - roughly four hours after her death - a post appeared on her social media account that read like a farewell. She wrote: “I have lived every single moment for the propagation of Sanatan Dharma… Throughout my life, I received the blessings of Adi Jagadguru Shankaracharya, the world’s yoga gurus, and revered saints and sages. I wrote letters to Adi Guru Shankaracharya and many great saints and sages of the country, requesting a trial by fire, but what did nature have in store?”It went on: “I am bidding farewell to this world forever, but I have complete faith in God and the revered saints and sages. If not in my lifetime, then after my death, I will surely receive justice.”
Police are now investigating access to her accounts to see if the post was scheduled or published by someone else, NDTV reported.
Way forward and earlier controversies
