Every Sunday since 45 years, Bollywood legend
Amitabh Bachchan has been stepping out of his Juhu bungalow, Jalsa, to greet a massive gathering of devoted fans - crowd that is as legendary as his films.
This tradition started many years ago, out of gratitude post his near-fatal 1982 accident on the set of Coolie. Some call it a Mumbai tradition - with Big B standing at the gate of his house, every Sunday - hands folded in gratitude and waving warmly.
But recently, Big B's Sunday videos went viral, for a rather interesting reason - all thanks to the man who stays next to Amitabh Bachchan’s house - his next-door neighbour.
Some recent videos of the actor's house have caught a glimpse of his neighbour, peeping out from the window and they were quick to go viral.
The neighbour's clip offers a rare, intimate glimpse into the superstar's routine, turning the neighbour into an overnight sensation and sparking reactions from amused netizens as well as emotional fans.
Living cheek-by-jowl with one of India's biggest icons can't be ordinary, it's like a dream come true!

Who is Nirmit Jesrani?
Nirmit Jesrani is a Mumbai local living next to Jalsa, Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Juhu. He recently shared an Instagram clip capturing Bachchan interacting with fans outside his bungalow.
In the footage, Jesrani appears at his window, watching the ritual and even folding his hands to greet the crowd. The video exploded online, giving fans a neighbour s-eye view of the 45-year-old tradition.
What did Jesrani post
In the clip, Jesrani introduces himself playfully, “Who is this guy behind Amitabh Ji in these videos? It is me, Nirmit Jesrani”.
He then poured his heart out in gratitude, saying, “Amitabh Bachchan sir, I am your neighbour. I just wanted to give you a message that we are very grateful. We are thankful from the bottom of our hearts. After greeting your fans every Sunday, you wave back at us, acknowledging our presence. Your humility and warmth mean more than words. Sir, if I could get an opportunity to meet you, I would be very very grateful”.
Social media pours in humorous reactions
Netizens flooded the comments section with humour and envy. One wrote, “Aap Cheeni mangne jaaiye kabhi, ya apne ghar ki puja k liye koi chouki, padosi se aise hi mila jata hai!” (Go borrow some sugar sometime, or a stool for your home puja - neighbours meet like that!). Others wrote, “Damn, guy you are so lucky,”
