Indresh Upadhyay is a well-known storyteller from Mathura–Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. He is the son of Krishna Chandra Shastri Maharaj and Narwada Sharma, and reports state that he has three sisters. His interest in spiritual texts began early, and he completed his study of the Bhagavad Gita at the age of 13.

According to a report by Navbharat Times, Shipra, who is marrying Indresh, comes from a respected family. She is originally from Yamuna Nagar in Haryana. Her father, Pandit Harendra Sharma, worked as a DSP in the Uttar Pradesh Police. The family now lives in Amritsar, Punjab.
Indresh and Shipra have known each other for many years. Their families share a long-standing relationship, and the wedding is taking place with the blessings of both sides.
The wedding is being held at Hotel Taj Amer in Jaipur, which has been beautifully decorated with a Vedic and spiritual theme. The main rituals are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the same venue later in the evening.
As reported by Navbharat Times, before the celebrations moved to Jaipur, Indresh’s home in Vrindavan hosted traditional ceremonies like haldi and sangeet on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the wedding procession set off for Jaipur.
Indresh wore an off-white sherwani with a traditional turban and carried a silver staff. His niece rode alongside him on a mare. The procession was grand, featuring elephants and horses, with many guests riding on horseback while holding symbols of Banke Bihari. Indresh’s father, storyteller Shrikrishnachandra Shastri, also took part in the procession.
