When your car becomes a detective: wife asks BYD car AI if husband brought other women – hilarious ride drama
Technology is becoming part of everyday life in ways we never expected. A video from China recently went viral when a wife asked her husband’s BYD car AI assistant a personal question during a ride. The exchange quickly turned from casual to tense, capturing the attention of viewers worldwide. On Instagram alone, the clip has crossed millions of views.
While on a drive, the wife asked the AI assistant Xiao Fang, “Did my husband bring any other women in the car when I was away?”
Her husband, driving the car, smiled at the question, trying to stay calm. Xiao Fang’s first response offered a mix of relief and intrigue:
“I can’t know directly if your husband brought any other woman to Fangchengbao 8,” the AI said.
The conversation did not stop there. Xiao Fang continued with advice that made the ride even more interesting.
Instead of giving a direct answer, the AI suggested ways to notice unusual behavior:
“But, I can give you some small tips to judge. First, check navigation history. So, if there’s an X store in the navigation, or any other sensitive location history for car navigation, usually, the itinerary of the day will be recorded,” Xiao Fang explained.
While the husband maintained his calm smile, the wife casually enjoyed her snacks and soft drink, listening carefully.
“If, one day, he drives dozens of kilometres more than usual, and it's not an outing or a business trip, then you need your husband to give a reasonable explanation.”
“Second, observe the cleanliness of the car. If your husband doesn't usually care much about car cleaning… the windshield is covered with leaves, bird droppings, or something. But, these days, if he's suddenly keen on car wash maintenance, cleans the inside and outside of the car very carefully, also puts paper or wipes in the car, mineral water, deodorant, etc, then the probability of an issue is relatively high,” Xiao Fang added.
“But, before there is any hard evidence, don’t be too anxious or worried. You can find a suitable time to communicate well with your husband.”
The video went viral quickly, with many viewers commenting on the unusual interaction:
“I really thought the car was going to rat him out,” one user wrote.
“Seeing the husband laughing meant he was safe,” commented another.
“Dude is cooked,” joked a viewer.
Other reactions included: “BYD is a girl’s girl,” and “Someone getting rid of the AI soon.”
“The silence in between was LOUD. This might be the most intense BYD ride in history. The passenger seat just unlocked Detective Class 101.”
The wife asked the same question again in another video. This time, Xiao Fang suggested a “sincere chat” with her husband to clear any doubts.

The AI added another suggestion:

It also mentioned changes in car maintenance habits as a sign:
“Second, observe the cleanliness of the car. If your husband doesn't usually care much about car cleaning… the windshield is covered with leaves, bird droppings, or something. But, these days, if he's suddenly keen on car wash maintenance, cleans the inside and outside of the car very carefully, also puts paper or wipes in the car, mineral water, deodorant, etc, then the probability of an issue is relatively high,” Xiao Fang added.
Finally, the AI reminded the wife to stay calm:
“But, before there is any hard evidence, don’t be too anxious or worried. You can find a suitable time to communicate well with your husband.”
