The Nawab could hardly keep his passion for his dogs under wraps, and his palace was a puppy paradise. Each dog received luxuries like the royals. But when Roshanara, his favorite, found her mate in Bobby, it lightened up the Nawab's heart beyond imagination. He decided to throw a wedding as good as any other royal wedding with great pomp and splendor, to celebrate their union.
An invitation was sent to Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India, which spoke volumes about the event's importance and prestige. The bride, Roshanara, was pampered to the fullest, bathed with the finest shampoo, adorned with expensive perfumes, and dressed in expensive jewelry. And she was paraded into the Durbar Hall in a silver palki, a traditional palanquin, by all the holders of esteemed positions.
The groom, Bobby, was well decked in gold bracelets and necklaces that could be seen hanging from his body as he paraded through a railway station. It was a grand event as he arrived at the railway station, which became more embellished by 250 dogs dressed in brocade accompanying him, with the military band playing.
