WHAT! A temple with Pikachu, Spider-Man, Captain America, and David Beckham – see it to believe it!
Bangkok is a city that balances two very different worlds. On one side, there are busy roads, buzzing markets, and modern towers. On the other side, there are calm temples where life slows down for a moment. One such temple has now caught everyone’s attention online because it looks very different from the usual shrines. This temple is known as Wat Pariwat, and many people also call it the “David Beckham Temple”.
The reason is unusual. The temple has carvings of famous pop culture characters along with traditional religious art. As mentioned by Condé Nast Traveler, visitors can spot figures like Mickey Mouse, Captain America, and Winnie the Pooh on the temple walls. There is also a statue of football star David Beckham placed under the main altar, which is how the temple got its popular nickname.
Recently, a video from this temple started trending on social media, and the reactions have been pouring in.
The video was shared on Instagram on December 25. In the clip, Gaurav and his travel companion walk around the temple and start looking for pop culture characters carved into the structure. It turns into a fun hunt as they find Pikachu, Mickey Mouse, Superman, Aquaman, Wolverine, and more.
The caption shared with the video reads: “If Bangkok hasn’t blown your mind already, this temple surely will. The beautiful temple in Bangkok is known for a good treasure hunt of all the characters that are hidden in the structure. I have only shared a few. If you happen to visit, try finding them all.”
The clip received a stream of comments from users who were amused and curious about the temple design.
One user asked: “Mable ki temple yeh ya marvel ki?”
Another person wrote: “Waah yr isse cool temple nahi dekha!!! Seriously, treasure hunt.”
Someone else commented: “Archaeologists from the future are going to have some great time.”
A cricket lover added humor to the discussion and said, “Virat Kohli lagayenge tab javunga iss mandir me.”
Another user shared: “Imagine 2000 years later, people find this and start worshipping Pikachu.”
