Watch: Viral video shows how robots are replacing delivery riders in Dubai
Food delivery is something most people are very familiar with today. You place an order, wait for updates, and a delivery person arrives. But a recent video from Dubai is now going viral because this usual process looked completely different.
An Indian man, Harish Kumar, shared a video where his food was delivered by a robot. The clip has caught attention online, and people are now discussing how such technology is slowly becoming part of everyday life.
In the video, Harish Kumar begins by telling viewers about his order and what makes it unusual. He sounds curious and wants to see how the system works.
“Guys, I just ordered something, and the delivery is happening by a robot, which is Rover. So let's just see who is approaching us and see how it is doing it,” he says.
Soon after, the robot reaches the location, showing how the delivery takes place without any human involvement.
Kumar then explains the process step by step in a very simple way.
He shows that once the robot arrives, a notification appears on the phone. The user can then open the lid and take the order.
“Once it comes to the location, this is how it pops up on the phone. If you click on open lid, the lid will be opened. You collect the order. Here, you will have the order collected option. If you click it again, you have to click the closing lid,” he explains.
Everything is controlled through the phone, and there is no delivery person involved in the process.
He also shared his experience in the caption, writing, “Ordered food… and a robot showed up. No calls. No rider. Just pure tech. Only in Dubai.”
The video quickly gained attention, and people shared mixed reactions.
Some users were impressed with the idea. One wrote, “This is the future, and it looks so convenient.” Another said, “Dubai is always ahead when it comes to technology.” A third added, “Imagine this coming to India soon; that would be amazing.”
At the same time, some users raised concerns. One comment read, “What if someone tries to tamper with the robot on the way?” Another said, “Looks cool, but I wonder how safe it is in crowded areas.”
Many people liked how simple and smooth the process looked. “No calls, no waiting – this is actually very efficient,” one user wrote. Another added, “Technology like this makes life so much easier.”
However, questions about safety and practical use were also part of the discussion.
