Watch video: Disney employee saves audience from massive boulder during Indiana Jones show
Employees are not just responsible for the smooth functioning and operation of an organisation, they are also the ones who prevent impending catastrophes by risking their own lives. Especially at a place as fun and risky as Disney where every moment is magical yet momentous to the lives of thousands of people who visit the wonderland every day.
The boulder is used in a stunt which recreates the iconic scene where Indiana Jones outruns a boulder in the 1981 film 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. In a usual showing of the 25-minute theme park attraction, a performer is 'squashed' by the rolling boulder as it barrels along the stage before getting up to explain the stunt.
However, in this performance, the boulder swerved off the ledge and began bouncing towards the shocked audience members in a sudden moment. One brave member from the staff charged towards the giant ball and attempted to grab onto it, only to be knocked to the ground.
The boulder then bounced away from the audience with the performance being halted and the lights coming on, allowing other staff members to rush to his aid. A few members in the audience jumped up and could be heard gasping in shock as the injured man was helped to his feet.
People have been praising the selfless man for his bravery and courage to place himself in harm's way to protect others.
"Another angle! That happening on a multi-million-dollar set with kids in the audience is insane," commented a social media user on X.
"I hope Disney gives this guy a fat raise, a lifetime amount of Disneyland/World tickets, gets publicly recognised, and all the turkey legs the man can handle forever," appreciated another.
"That looks like a serious injury. I hope this capeless hero recovers quickly and doesn't suffer any long-term issues. This guy risked his life to avoid a major tragedy," commended one.
"real life Indiana Jones or smth," one quipped.
However, this is not the first time the incident has taken place. A similar incident reportedly occurred at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular last year, as per multiple reports and social media posts.
Disney employee saves the day
In a video going viral on the internet, a brave Disney employee saved the audience members from being hit by a boulder, suffering injuries himself.
