Watch video: African pastor tried to part the sea like Prophet Moses, what happened next left his followers stunned
The tale of Moses parting the Red Sea has long been a folklore believed by many. Recounted in the Book of Exodus, the story describes the Israelites' escape from slavery in Egypt.
While Moses' tale is remembered as one of bravery and saviour, a new tale recently emerged online, sending many into shock. In a video going viral on social media apps, an African pastor claimed he can part the Red Sea like Prophet Moses.
Dressed in a white robe, he asked his followers to keep reading from the Holy Bible as he ventured into the sea with a stick in his hand. In the clip, he ran towards the incoming waves while one of his followers read the Bible verses bent on his knees.
However, soon, the pastor turned around and tried running back to safety as the waves crashed over him. In the end, he abandoned the attempt and fled in fear.
"He started off like Moses, but almost ended up like Pharaoh," wrote a user on Facebook.
"Fact that he tried...Even Moses didn't knew till it was revealed to him. There is a difference between a prophet, a scientist and a magician," added another.
"Not a priest, but a group of teenagers intellectually and humanely .. they do not know that God is the Self-Sufficient Master of His servants, and that if He willed to send down a sign to the people, their necks would remain submissive to it," claimed one on X.
"Why doesn't he try the miracle of our master Jonah and have the whale swallow him, maybe it'll work out for him," questioned another.

The tale of Moses parting the Red Sea
Trapped at the Red Sea by the Pharaoh's pursuing army, Moses, at God's command stretched out his staff. A strong wind blew all night, parting the water and creating a dry path for the Israelites to walk through safely. While the Egyptian army followed them into the seabed, the next morning God caused the Egyptians' chariots to get stuck. Once everyone had crossed, Moses lowered his staff and the walls of water crashed down, destroying the entire Egyptian army.Comments
