Watch: Men target moving train with cow dung and coloured liquid; video sparks massive outrage
A video going viral on social media shows a group of men throwing coloured liquid and cow dung at a moving train. The incident has raised concerns about passenger safety and public behaviour, with many people reacting strongly online. In the clip, several men can be seen standing very close to the railway tracks as the train passes by at speed. One man is seen throwing a bucket of brightly coloured water onto the train, while others laugh and continue splashing the dirty mixture at the passing coaches. The clip was shared on X by The Nalanda Index, which strongly criticized the behaviour. The account wrote, “Some people with a completely backward mindset think it’s fun to throw mud, dirty water, and even cow dung at passing trains.” The account also tagged the Ministry of Railways, urging authorities to take strict legal action.

Social media users criticise the act

The video quickly drew widespread criticism online, with many users raising concerns about passenger safety and the lack of civic sense. One user wrote, “Things like these boil my blood because it is fun for them doing it, but the amount of inconvenience for the people inside the train is horrendous.”
Another commented, “The speed and modernity of the railways remain incomplete until citizens develop civic sense. Strict action against these antisocial elements is the only solution.” One more user suggested, “Round them up, make them do community service for a year, clean up their mess, and teach them civic duty!”A third user raised a broader concern, writing, “This is the reason why I say India will always remain a ‘developing’ country.
It is the people who make a country, and this is the kind of people we have in this country.”

Railway authorities take notice

RailwaySeva responded to the post, asking for more details so action could be taken. The account wrote, “Please share the location/nearest station name and mobile number with us so that immediate action can be taken on your complaint.”The National Crime Investigation Bureau, Bihar, also condemned the behaviour. The account wrote, “Throwing mud, dirty water, or cow dung at passing trains is disgusting and criminal behaviour. It’s high time the authorities identified these individuals and put them behind bars. Public safety and dignity cannot be taken for a joke. Strict action is a must!”Thumb image: X
