Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex was recently in Europe to make her first-ever appearance at the . She made a surprise appearance at the Balenciaga Wear Spring/Summer 2026 show, marking her first visit to Europe since 2022. While her fans were excited and impressed by her comeback on the international scene, one video of the duchess now has the internet trolling her back-to-back.
On Saturday, the 44-year-old took to Instagram stories to share a video of herself relaxing in a limousine near the Paris tunnel where her mother-in-law, lost her life in a fatal car crash in 1997. In the clip, the duchess recorded her car passing the bridges Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides from the window at night. Then, she turned the camera inside the car and showed her putting her feet up and stretching them out.
Her car was pretty close to the bridge point Pont d'Alma, which is next to Pont d'Alma tunnel where her husband, Prince Harry's mom got into the accident and later died of her injuries on August 31, 1997.
The video went viral with people slamming the duchess online for disrespecting the late beloved princess who is still remembered and followed for her iconic personality and style.

People have been trolling the duchess for the 'insensitive' and 'tasteless' video she posted near Princess Diana's crash site on various social media platforms.
"Talk about purposely inflicting additional trauma and unnecessary PTSD on your husband. She’s evil!" wrote a person on X, marking how Prince Harry must feel looking at the video.
"A so-called duchess is meant to show grace and class, not toss her feet on limo seats like she’s at home on the couch. It’s crude, entitled, and trashes every ounce of refinement she pretends to represent," added another, calling out the duchess on poise personality she represents to the world.
"Meghan Markle is the most classless celebrity I know! Unfortunately she has a Duchess title. How stupid is that! Remove her title now!" wrote another, calling for the removal of the duchess' royal title.
Many in the comments pointed out how the duchess's Instagram story and alleged act of disrespect towards the late princess were becoming a global scandal that she would find difficult to come out of unscathed. "Self inflicted wound. You love to see it," and "It's becoming a global scandal" wrote many.
While Meghan has not yet responded to the backlash, the incident has once again reignited debates about her public image, sensitivity toward the royal family’s legacy, and how every move she makes continues to draw intense global scrutiny.
