Video: Child hangs and swings inside Mumbai Metro coach; authorities issue warning, call it a punishable offence
A short video from a Mumbai Metro train is now catching everyone’s attention. In the clip, a young boy is seen performing risky stunts while the train is moving. The video has started a discussion about children’s safety during travel and how parents should guide their kids in public spaces.
This incident shows how playful actions inside a moving train can quickly turn dangerous for both children and other passengers.
In the video, passengers are seated on both sides of the coach. The boy, wearing a light blue shirt and blue trousers, is seen holding the overhead support bar in the middle aisle. He lifts himself slightly off the floor and holds the rail, moving between the vertical poles in the centre of the coach.
Some passengers notice the boy, while others continue with their phones. The clip shows him treating the rail almost like gym equipment.
The boy is also seen moving along the red handles attached to the overhead rail. He swings from one handle to another as the train moves. Later, he grabs the overhead bar again and hangs with both hands between the poles, lifting his legs off the floor.
The video was shared on X by Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited. The metro authority said the clip was sent by an alert passenger.
In their post, MMMOCL wrote: “Our alert passenger @varshasay sent us this video of a child performing some unsafe stunts inside our metro. We appeal to all parents to discourage their children from playing this way inside the metro. It is unsafe for your kids and also other passengers. It is also a punishable offence. Maha Mumbai Metro is public property; teach your children to treat it with care and respect.”
