The clip, shared on X by user @iNikhilsaini, captured endless rows of cars stuck bumper-to-bumper on mountain roads, leaving tourists stranded for hours. And honestly, the internet had a lot to say about it.

Sharing the video, the user expressed disappointment over how overcrowded Himachal’s popular tourist spots have become. He questioned whether holidays even feel relaxing anymore when travellers spend half their time trapped in traffic instead of actually enjoying the mountains.

“Really sad to see Himachal like this now,” he wrote, even advising people to delay their travel plans for a few days because the current situation felt “more like torture than a holiday.”

But the post quickly turned into a much bigger conversation online.

Many users blamed poor tourism planning and the overpromotion of the same few hill stations year after year. According to several comments, destinations like Manali are now struggling under the pressure of overtourism, while many lesser-known but equally beautiful places remain ignored.

One user pointed out that the issue isn’t exactly new. “I got stuck in Rohtang traffic back in 2016 too. Social media just makes it more visible now,” they wrote.

Others said the real problem is infrastructure simply not keeping up with the number of tourists pouring in every season.
