Ahead of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States, a New Jersey based restaurant has come up with a special ‘thali’, ANI reported. This special ‘Modi ji Thali’ is prepared by chef Shripad Kulkarni.
According to the chef, the items in the thali were added as per the demands of Indian people residing there which included Khichdi, rasgulla, sarson ka saag, Kashmiri dum aloo, idli, dhokla, chaach, and papad, among many other delicacies.

Twitter by ANI, Mr. Kulkarni shared details about the vibrant thali. Reportedly, the restaurant owner is said to launch another thali for External Affairs Minister
S Jaishankar.
"We plan to launch this thali soon. I'm very positive that it's going to gain popularity. Once this does well I also plan to launch a Dr. Jaishankar Thali, because he too has that rockstar appeal amongst the Indian American community," he said.
Reportedly the thali pays tribute to 2023 being declared as the International Year of Millets by the UN after the Indian government recommended it in 2019.
PM Modi will be addressing the joint meeting of the US Congress. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to do so. President
Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are said to welcome PM Modi with a State dinner at the White House on June 22.
This will be his first visit to Washington. According to the organizers Indian Americans will be welcoming PM Modi with ‘Indian Unity Day’, a march in 20 cities across America on June 18.
