A recent wedding in China has captured attention across social media for an extraordinary reason. Instead of the usual lavish decorations or celebrity guests, this ceremony stood out for a family coincidence so rare that it amazed everyone present and online.
Twins marry twins
According to a report by the South China Morning Post, at the centre of the story are twin brothers who married twin sisters on the same day. What made the wedding even more remarkable was that both families also have twin uncles. A single photograph showing four sets of twins together quickly went viral, crossing more than 10 million views.
The wedding host called the event a “miracle”. Guests shared the same sense of amazement. One villager said, “I have lived over 60 years and have never seen anything like this before. I wish them a lifetime of even more happiness.”
How the couples came together
The two couples, both in their twenties, are from Fuyang in Anhui province. As mentioned in the report, their families live close to each other, though their parents were not very familiar when they first met around 20 years ago.
In 2022, a matchmaker introduced the Shan sisters to the Song brothers.
The elder sister later recalled that at first they thought they were too young to date. However, the brothers’ continued efforts gradually won their hearts, and over time both couples grew close enough to marry.
Life among twins
As mentioned in the report, being part of families with so many twins comes with small confusions. The elder sister said her in laws often mix her up with her younger sister, and even her parents sometimes confuse the twin brothers. She added that the couples themselves rarely get confused, as spending time together helped them clearly know each other.
The twin brothers live in separate homes located in different areas.
Social media buzz
According to the report, the wedding quickly became a hot topic online. One user wrote, “There truly are bizarre coincidences in the world. This is a perfect example of good things coming in pairs.” Another commented, “Imagine if these two couples each had a pair of twins. I wonder how packed this big family would be.”
