At 28, Karoline Leavitt is the youngest White House press secretary in American history. Pregnant with her second child, she is also the first person to serve the role while carrying a baby. Since taking her position, Leavitt has been famous for her controversial comments in press briefings and staunch support of her boss, US President Donald Trump.
But there is one more thing that gets the 'MAGA Barbie' all the attention from the world, her personal style and fashion sense. One of the many leading ladies of the Trump administration, she is often seen decked in designer brands and pricy labels from head to toe. She often appears at White House press briefings in tweed suits, high heels and tailored shirts, embodying the perfect image of a new-money MAGA. Outside, the press room, Leavitt's bags have been the talk of the town. From a spacious Louis Vuitton to a statement Gucci, she carries them all in style.

According to Fox News, she earns an annual salary of $195,200. And if her fashion outings and social media posts are to go by, she spends a chunk of the money on filling her closet with designer pieces.
Karoline Leavitt's personal style
As per Dr David Loranger, PhD and associate professor of fashion marketing and merchandising at Sacred Heart University, Leavitt's personal style is a statement to her MAGA fandom. "To me, the logo thing is so played out and it's something that someone who wants to project status purchases," Loranger told the Daily Mail.
"She does roll with new-money billionaires, so perhaps she's just trying to fit in," he said. But what makes Karoline Leavitt's closet? Here's a detailed revelation.
Louis Vuitton
A designer brand that finds major space in Leavitt's closet is Louis Vuitton, as she owns a number of bags from the French fashion house. She has been spotted travelling on jets with the classic and cult-favourite Neverfull Monogram MM bag which is priced at $2,170. In a tote style, it is made of brown leather and cowhide trim.
From Air Force One to Marine One, she carries the spacious accessory on most of her work trips, ideal for her on-the-go lifestyle. "This bag has been around for years, and customers who have busy careers and lives gravitate towards it. I'd say it embodies 'utility with a touch of style,'" said Loranger.
Just days after her appointment at the post, Leavitt had donned another bag from the brand, a white Louis Vuitton Monogram Messenger bag worth $4,800. An X post revealing the price and model of the bag had many accusing Leavitt of hypocrisy in the comments. "Definitely just a normal working-class patriot with a $5K designer bag and a PR-approved mirror selfie," wrote one person. "Look what I just bought with my taxpayer-funded salary!" added another.
However, he also added that the brand has been "so over-exposed" now that he would consider it "masstige"- "a poor person's idea of a rich person," he said.
Capucines
She also has a Capucines mini bag in her closet which is a limited-edition snakeskin version and was sold for over thousands of dollars. Leavitt was spotted with it at Mar-a-Lago in November 2023.
Coussin
Another bag worth $5,000 in her collection is a Coussin PM bag in cream which is featured in numerous posts on her social media account.
Salvatore Ferragamo
Recently, she has also been spotted with $2,300 Salvatore Ferragamo large star-shaped tote bag for some trips and events.
Chanel
Another major fashion house finding a place in Leavitt's designer closet is Chanel. She carried the Lambskin Quilted Pearl Small Flap bag in light pink, which featured the brand's logo in shiny gold at the front. While the bag is unavailable on the brand's website, it is being sold on resale sites at $6,000.
Now, this one truly makes a statement. According to fashion expert and founder of Launch Your Collection Lisa Springsteel Dupree, a small light pink Chanel top handle bag is "extremely hard to get" as the brand reserves such for feminine seasonal colours and mini sizes for top clients.
"While they do occasionally appear in boutiques or at retailers like Saks, they're so in demand that securing one typically requires a strong purchase history," she shared.
As per Loranger, getting a bag like this would require some good "legwork" and coughing up about $5K.
Gucci
Like any other new-money fashionista dabbling in luxury brands, one or two brands have not done enough for Leavitt. She also boasts of some Gucci hits on her hands.
In August 2025, she carried a $3,200 Gucci Web Dionysus Medium while attending the US Open in New York with President Trump. The bag featured a cream base with blue and red stripes and a bamboo handle and silver buckle.
"The Gucci Dionysus is one of the brand's icon bags, introduced under former creative director Alessandro Michele and named after the Greek god associated with duality and bold expression," Springsteel Dupree told the outlet.
Leavitt also owns the same bag in black, which she paired with a velvet dress for a December 2022 wedding.
According to the fashion expert, Leavitt is not chasing the "it-bad circuit" among the elites but rather opts for pieces that align with her own aesthetic which is "heritage-driven without leaning overly decorative."
Karoline Leavitt's controversial fashion life
There's a common identity in MAGA followers, they often share the same clothes, smile and surgeries. A MAGA woman can be spotted from a distance, if not from their red hat, then botox lips or repetitive brands.
As per a report by Daily Beast, Karoline Leavitt to Usha Vance, most leading ladies of the Trump war room are dressed by one D.C. fashion retailer, Tuckernuck. And while the Democrat-supported brand might be getting a hefty revenue from these purchases, it is less than happy about its MAGA customers.
“I have a hard time, you know, with Karoline [Leavitt],” a Tuckernuck employee said of the 28-year-old White House press secretary to the outlet. “Her kind of day-to-day is very much against my morals and values,” they added. Leavitt has been spotted purchasing athleisure and loungewear from the DC store and has donned its dresses to official events as well.
But what's more interesting is the fact that the one dressing in brands and carrying them on her hands, has been quick to throw stones at others. Leavitt was quick to shade New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's wife Rama Duwaji for donning $630 boots to her husband's oath ceremony.
She took to Instagram to call out the couple's communist approach, writing, “They want New Yorkers to hand over more than half their income to the government - while she wears designer boots worth your weekly paycheck."
“Classic Communists - rules for you, but not for them. There are reasons Communism has failed everywhere it’s been tried. Good luck, New York,” she wrote with a sad face emoji in a story she posted on Instagram.
A quick look in the White House Press Secretary's closet actually reveals a dual reality, rules for others, but not for her, which has been the case with everyone involved in the Trump administration recently.
