Mughal emperors: The most popular namesakes

The Mughal Empire was one of the largest and most powerful empires in the world, ruling over most of India and parts of Central Asia from the 16th to the 18th century. The Mughal emperors were known for their patronage of art, architecture, literature, and religion, and their influence can still be seen in many aspects of Indian culture.

One of the ways to measure the impact of the Mughal emperors is to look at the number of villages and towns that are named after them. According to the Census of India 2011, there are over 700 villages and towns named after the six major Mughal emperors: Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb. The most popular name among them is Akbar, with more than 200 villages and towns bearing his name, such as Akbarpur, Akbarabad, and Akbar Ganj. The least popular name is Aurangzeb, with only 14 villages and towns named after him, such as Aurangabad, Aurang Nagar, and Aurang Shahpur.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji: The founder of Sikhism

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of Sikhism, a monotheistic religion that originated in the Punjab region of India in the 15th century. Baba Saheb Ambedkar: The chief architect of the Indian Constitution

Baba Saheb Ambedkar was a jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer, who is best known for his role as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He was also a champion of the rights and dignity of the oppressed and marginalized sections of the society, especially the Dalits, who were subjected to caste discrimination and untouchability. The Nehru-Gandhi Family is the most prominent and influential political dynasty in India, having produced three prime ministers and several other leaders and members of the Indian National Congress, the oldest and largest political party in India. The family traces its roots to Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India, and his daughter Indira Gandhi, the first and only female prime minister of India. The family also includes Rajiv Gandhi, the son of Indira Gandhi and the youngest prime minister of India, and his wife Sonia Gandhi, the current president of the Indian National Congress.

The Nehru-Gandhi Family’s name is also associated with many places in India, especially in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, where they have their ancestral and political base. According to the Census of India 2011, there are over 70 villages named after Jawaharlal Nehru, more than 30 named after Indira Gandhi, and 19 named after Rajiv Gandhi, such as Nehru Nagar, Nehrugarh, and Jawahar Nagar.
