On April 24, 2026, Majeed received an advice memo linked to the same recruitment process. Eighteen years after the rank list had expired.

He's now seeking help from Kerala's Education Minister and Advocate N. Shamsudheen, hoping authorities will step in and review his case.

Reports suggest the vacancy stayed open for years because there weren't enough eligible candidates available. Even though the rank list expired in 2008, the unfilled post continued to exist in the system. That eventually led to the appointment recommendation being issued in 2026.
