'Sole aim of dehumanising Indians': MAGA influencer Nick Fuentes' India trip faces backlash, netizens call to cancel visa

Far-right MAGA influencer Nick Fuentes and Irish political commentator Keith Woods are apparently planning a trip to India, the news of which has triggered massive outrage online.Woods, a controversial MAGA activist recently took to X to share an image of him and Fuentes standing on an Indian ghat surrounded by civilians and cows with the text 'NICK AND KEITH IN INDIA'. In the post sharing the image, Woods wrote the caption 'Season 2'.Soon, the post gained traction online leading to numerous Indians calling out the upcoming trip and asking for a ban on both the creators' visas."A tiny group of these foreign YouTubers keep landing in our country, zero in on the toughest spots, shoot it like it’s the whole nation, then blast it for millions of views & likes. It’s not “documentary” … it’s straight-up content farming + propaganda against India," wrote a user on X."India should ban their entry ASAP or deport them if they are already here," said another."These anti-India extremists should not be allowed into the country, they are here with the sole aim of dehumanising Indians," said one."Time for vigilante indians to step up and dhurandhar these guys if they set foot in India," quipped another."There must be no free speech or monetisation at the expense of India and Indians for foreigners. Especially those on the payrolls of racist supremacists and religious fanatics around," said another.Fuentes, a far-right nationalist and white supremacist, is known for his anti-Indian agenda online. He once called for India to be added to the list of 19 countries with a full suspension of immigration and naturalisation. He has often attacked Indian-origin natives and politicians online, once asking Ohio gubernatorial hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, to "go back to India."While there are no reports of either Fuentes or Woods having visited India before, they frequently tag and repost posts trolling the country online.However, what has Indian citizens outraged is the rising trend of foreign influencers turning up in the country to record daily life and portray it as 'backward', 'unhygienic' and unideal all in order to gain clout and followers. This has been a rising trend particularly in America where the anti-Indian sentiment has been on the rise ever since January 2025. In October 2025, American YouTuber Tyler Oliviera attended the Gorehabba festival in Karnataka's village, mocking it online as India's Poop-Throwing Festival. Another YouTuber Bald and Bankrupt has also been coming to India for the past 7 years to make dehumanising videos on the country.Inside America, influencers have been mocking the Indian culture and natives. In another video that went viral on X, comedian Alex Stein attended a Plano City Council meeting where he mocked Hindu customs of using cow dung, while dressed in a yellow kurta with shorts, slippers and a red tilak.A 2026 survey by Carnegie Endowment for International Peace revealed that since the start of 2025, one in four Indian Americans have been called a slur, even describing the US as the "epicentre of anti-Indian digital racism."Thus, the callout for such influencers using the country's culture and livelihood as a source of gaining followers and promoting a strategic rhetoric is vital.
