Late nights plus junk food! This 101-year-old woman lives by every ‘wrong’ rule and still has all her teeth
A 101-year-old Chinese woman, Jiang Yueqin, defies conventional health advice with her late nights, junk food habits, and relaxed schedule. Despite her unconventional lifestyle, she maintains all her natural teeth and enjoys a peaceful life, proving that a calm mind might be the key to longevity.
Meet Jiang Yueqin, a 101-year-old grandmother from China who is quietly breaking every rule of healthy living and somehow thriving.Staying up till 2 am watching television? Check.Sleeping in till late morning? Absolutely.Mid-night snacks and pastries? Regularly. And yet, at 101, Jiang doesn’t wear dentures. She’s never had major dental treatment. And she still chews her food comfortably with all her natural teeth intact. Her unusual routine recently went viral after her daughter shared glimpses of her daily life online, leaving the internet both amused and amazed.Jiang lives in Wenzhou, in China’s Zhejiang province, and is the mother of seven. According to her family, her day begins only around 10 am. Once awake, she freshens up and starts her morning or rather, late morning, with a strong cup of green tea.Her nights are where things get interesting.Almost every evening, Jiang stays awake until about 2 am, happily watching television. Despite the late hours, her daughter Yao Songping says she falls asleep easily and sleeps deeply through the night. This reverse schedule, however, didn’t always exist.
Two years ago, Jiang suffered a fall that injured her hand and required surgery. During her recovery, her family stopped her from doing housework. With fewer responsibilities during the day, she began napping more, which slowly pushed her bedtime later and later into the night.Soon, her body simply adjusted. Now, Jiang eats brunch instead of breakfast, has dinner around 6 pm, and if hunger strikes again, she enjoys a snack around 9 pm. Her favourite treat? A local Wenzhou pastry called Matisong. She also loves biscuits, crisps, shaqima, and dried sweet potato snacks. Not exactly a nutritionist’s dream diet.Yet, her health continues to surprise everyone around her.

Despite crossing the century mark, Jiang has never needed dentures, fillings, or dental treatment. Her daughter says she eats slowly, chews carefully, and never rushes her meals. So what’s her secret?According to her family, it isn’t strict discipline or superfoods. It’s calm.Jiang avoids anger, doesn’t hold grudges, and prefers a peaceful, unbothered life. She drinks green tea daily, sleeps when her body wants to, and doesn’t stress about routines. Her story has now sparked conversations across social media, with many pointing out the same thing, maybe longevity has less to do with perfect habits, and more to do with a relaxed mind. After all, at 101, staying up late, eating snacks, and still smiling through it might just be its own kind of wellness.
