To celebrate astronaut Sunita Williams' 59th birthday, iconic Indian music label Saregama created a special tribute by bringing together renowned musicians, singers, and celebrities.
The highlight of this tribute is a heartwarming rendition of Mohammad Rafi’s classic birthday song “Bar Bar Din Yeh Aaye,” performed by stars like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, and Hariharan.
Shared via Instagram, Saregama invited fans to join the celebration by posting their own birthday wishes with the hashtag #HappyBirthdaySunita. Currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), Sunita Williams will celebrate her birthday while continuing her historic space mission.

To further celebrate, Saregama shared a post on Instagram, encouraging fans across India to join in wishing Sunita Williams. Their caption reads: “Come on India, let’s sing #HappyBirthdaySunita along with India's biggest icons and send our collective wishes to Astronaut Sunita Williams up in space.

Veteran actor Jeetendra joins the celebration
In another special post, veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra Kapoor, who starred in the original music video of "Bar Bar Din Yeh Aaye" from the movie Farz, sings the song for Sunita in his unique style. The Instagram post is captioned: “The OG Star from the movie Farz, Jeetendra wishing in his own unique style.”
Musical icons Shankar Mahadevan, Salim Merchant and others wish Sunita
The musical tributes didn’t stop there. In yet another video, prominent artists like Shankar Mahadevan, Anup Jalota, Salim Merchant, Ila Arun, Haricharan Seshadri, and Shraddha Pandit also sent their birthday wishes to Sunita Williams, singing their versions of "Bar Bar Din Yeh Aaye." Their performances add to the collective celebration and show the overwhelming love and support for the astronaut.
Composer Raghav Sachar also joined in the celebrations, wishing Sunita Williams a happy birthday with a special melody played on the trumpet.
