'JD Vance is defending ICE murderer more passionately than he ever defended his wife': Social media roasts VP reaction to ICE shooting in Minneapolis
'Defending the white male murderer of an unarmed civilian is totally on brand for JD Vance,' wrote a social media user on X.
The world has been talking about the brutal atrocities of ICE for a while now. Their dreadful attacks, harsh captures and deadly punishments have become consistent nightmares for immigrants in America. A shocking and chilling reminder of just how the US's Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency carries out its tasks was seen by the world on January 7, 2026. An ICE officer fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman driving an SUV through her car window in south Minneapolis. The video of the deadly confrontation went viral on the internet, exposing the reality of ICE operations and the Trump administration's inhuman crackdown on immigrants.
JD Vance Loses Cool, Lashes Reporters Over Minneapolis ICE Shooting | ‘Be Ashamed…’
While numerous organisations and civilians have raised their voices over the shameful incident, those in power, including the President and Vice President of the United States, have justified the act with shocking statements.

JD Vance reacts to the ICE murder

The 41-year-old VP spoke to reporters at the White House about the fatal shooting of Good, who was a poet and a mother, on Thursday. Vance insisted that Good had tried to ram the ICE officer with her car and described a CNN headline that said “Outrage after ICE officer kills US citizen in Minneapolis” as typical of misleading coverage in the "corporate media."
“This was an attack on law and order. This was an attack on the American people. The way that the media by and large has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace and it puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day.”He also claimed that Good was part of a “broader leftwing network” that has been working tirelessly and using “domestic terror techniques” to stop Trump from enforcing immigration laws.“Everybody who’s been repeating the lie that this is some innocent woman who was out for a drive in Minneapolis when a law enforcement officer shot at her: you should be ashamed of yourselves, every single one of you,” he added, looking around the room. When reporters pointed out that “the investigation is still ongoing!,” Vance shouted, “The reporting over this has been one of the biggest scandals I’ve ever seen in the media. I’ve never seen a case so misrepresented and misreported when you have a guy who is defending himself and is now being treated as some sort of federal assassin by so many of the people in this room.”

Netizens react to Vance's statement

Vance's staunch defence of the ICE murder has the internet amazed and enraged over his views. With the investigation being taken over by the FBI, the truth of the entire incident is yet to be defined. However, as per the Trump administration and MAGA leaders, the act was a justified one. As for someone who was silent on the US's capture of the Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Vance had quite a bit to say about the killing of Good. Some on the internet even pointed out how the VP had defended the ICE agent more passionately than he did his wife, who faced her fair share of trolling online. "JD Vance is defending this murderer more passionately than he's ever defended his wife or kids," said a post on X that has received over 89K likes and 969.3K views. And others seem to agree. "Gotta be embarrassing to grow up knowing that’s your father," wrote one. "but as passionately as he defends Erika Kirk," quipped one."ignore the actual murder attention to the 'attempted murder'" evil administration," one pointed out. "Imagine being sworn in as a new US Citizen & Judge tells you the United States is a Democracy based on the Rule of Law with the US Constitution as its Bedrock. Then you see the Clown Show of Felon-in-Chief Trump, JD Made up Name, Whiskey Pete, Little Marco & Border Barbie" added another."Well, yeah. Defending the white male murderer of an unarmed civilian is totally on brand for @JDVance. But defending a brown woman and mixed race kids? Totally damaging to JD's brand! (Yes, I believe he will divorce Usha in pursuit of winning over white supremacist voters)," an X user wrote. From not wearing her wedding ring, to not dying her hair and even being an Indian, Usha Vance has been targeted online for every aspect of her identity. Her husband himself, has publicly stated how he would like her to convert to Christianity. Yet the only time he has stepped in to defend her was once. When asked about right-wing podcaster Nick Fuentes' racist comments on his wife, Vance said, "Let me be clear: anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat s---," he said to UnHerd in December 2025. While the investigation is underway, the people of Minneapolis have been voicing their support for Good, staging protests and demanding that ICE leave the city.
