Japanese creator tries South Indian veg meal in Bengaluru, says, “This is one of the…”
Indian food often goes viral online. This time, a simple video from Bengaluru became popular. It shows how a local meal surprised a person from another country. The video is about a Japanese creator sharing his honest reaction to South Indian vegetarian food.
Sho Takei, a Japanese content creator, was in Bengaluru when he visited the popular Rameshwaram Cafe. He decided to try a traditional Mudde meal and shared his experience on Instagram. There were no big reactions in the video, but it still connected with many people.
The meal featured a complete vegetarian spread. It included plain rice, ragi ball, masala vada, sambar, rasam, kosambari, pickle, curd and chilli. Along with the food, Takei also had a cup of filter coffee. He tried the dishes one by one and shared his thoughts calmly and simply.
After finishing the meal, Takei spoke positively about the experience. He called the food “surprisingly good” and described the cafe as “one of the top veg spots in India”. In the comment section, he wrote, “Honestly, I underestimated vegetarians. With nearly 20,000 reviews on Google Maps, I think this place is one of the top in India.” He also mentioned that the meal cost him “only Rs 200”.
The video has crossed lakhs of views and received thousands of likes. Viewers appreciated his honest tone and respectful approach towards local food.
One user commented, “The world doesn't know how to cook vegetables....only in India - Hindus have known Vegetable cooking for ages.” Another wrote, “His suggestion is so accurate.” A third user added, “Finally, a foreigner who is not broke and eats at a decent location.”
