Is Karoline Leavitt a Bad Bunny fan? Internet digs up awkward Instagram receipt
The criticism came first. The screenshots came later.
Karoline Leavitt, who publicly dismissed Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance, is now being mocked online after critics noticed she previously used one of his songs in an Instagram video.
The backlash stems from comments she made in the days surrounding the Grammys and the Super Bowl, where she took aim at the rapper. But social media users were quick to point out that on New Year’s Eve she had posted a 2025 recap video set to a mash-up track titled 2025 End Now, and the opening sample featured Bad Bunny’s hit “DTMF,” his most-streamed song on Spotify.
In the Instagram clip, the music plays over footage of Leavitt inside the Oval Office with her son Niko, as well as scenes from the 2025 Super Bowl, family moments, and work-related appearances including a clip of Donald Trump.
Commenters immediately flagged the apparent contradiction. One wrote, “Not her using bad bunny on her stuff,” while another added, “She probably has no clue lmao.” A third joked, “Bad bunny playing for the recap is the funniest shit I’ve seen so far this year. And we’re only 19 days in she lowkey loves him like the rest of us.”
The resurfaced post gained attention after Leavitt sharply criticized the rapper over remarks he made while accepting an award at this year’s Grammys. Referring to immigration enforcement, Bad Bunny said during his speech: “Before I say thanks to God, I'm going to say: ICE out. We're not savage, we're not animals, we're not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans.”

Two days later, during a press briefing, Leavitt responded. She called it “very ironic and frankly sad” that celebrities who “live in gated communities, with private security, with millions of dollars to spend protecting themselves” would speak out against law enforcement.
She continued: “You didn't hear this same type of uproar from celebrities in Hollywood when the previous administration allowed an invasion of our nation's borders and allowed innocent women and girls like Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley to be killed, raped, and murdered at the hands of people who should have never been in our country in the first place.”
Her criticism did not stop there. Ahead of the Super Bowl halftime show, she was asked whether Trump would watch Bad Bunny perform or instead tune into Turning Point USA’s so-called All-American Halftime Show. Leavitt replied: “I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. I must say that.”
However, Trump later indicated he had watched the performance. Posting on Truth Social, he described it as “absolutely terrible.” Video from his Mar-a-Lago watch party appeared to show he opted to watch Bad Bunny rather than the alternative broadcast.
