Intoxicated or a glitch? Viral video shows an allegedly 'intoxicated' delivery worker standing for hours in Chandigarh

But a recent, short video from Chandigarh has sparked a heated online debate after it appeared to show an e‑commerce delivery executive standing still for nearly two hours in a disoriented and seemingly intoxicated state. The clip, which surfaced on social media, quickly went viral, with users expressing concern, judgment, and even speculating about the person’s condition and the safety of last‑mile delivery workers.

E commerce delivery agent was spotted allegedly intoxicated

According to a PTI report, an unverified video of an e‑commerce delivery executive appeared online, allegedly shot in Chandigarh’s Sector 33. In the clip, a man with a delivery bag on his shoulder stands behind a car, with a bidi in his mouth, appearing disoriented and unable to stabilise himself. Some social‑media users claimed he had stayed in that same position for around two hours, turning the video into a viral talking point about working‑condition concerns and possible intoxication.

However, the authenticity of these claims and the exact context of the video could not be independently confirmed.

What was the police response?

When contacted about the matter, Sector 34 Police Station SHO Inspector Satinder told reporters that he did not have specific details about the viral video itself. He said, according to PTI reports, “We do not know about the authenticity of the video or when it was shot. However, a man, aged 27, who was roaming in the area suspiciously on Tuesday, was taken into preventive custody for questioning.”


The SHO added that there was no formal complaint from local residents, and the man was spotted by a police patrol vehicle. “His medical examination was conducted, but it did not confirm consumption of alcohol or any substance,” he said when asked whether the man was intoxicated. The 27‑year‑old, a resident of Dhanas in Chandigarh district, was later produced before a magistrate and released on bail.
