Robert Redford, Hollywood icon died on Tuesday morning at the age of 89. The 'All the President's Men' actor's death was announced by his publicist Cindi Berger, who told Daily Mail that he died at 'his home at Sundance in the mountains of Utah--the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved'.
The actor turned director owned numerous stunning properties across the western United States in his lifetime, as a sign of the impact these movie sets had on him.
Redford's property portfolio, which he and his wife Sibylle Szaggars began selling in the past seven years, was worth more than $20 million, according to property records.
He owned at least two homes in Sundance, Utah, the ski and resort community the actor and director founded in 1969. The area came to be known after his character in the 1969 movie 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'

One of the properties the couple owned in the mountain community was a 1,500 square foot cabin very close to the ski resort, which he sold to the new owners in 2020. The home is situated on an acre of land and has an elevated position above the road. According to estimates by Zillow, the home is worth $2.3 million.

Before meeting Redford, Szaggars bought a home in Sundance in the 1980s. That is how she ended up meeting the actor in the 1990s and got married to him in 2009. According to real estate broker Jaisa Bishop, the three-story cabin served as an inspiration for much of Szaggars' multimedia environmental work.
Surrounded by pine trees, the home has views of the 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos, along with four bedrooms, multiple decks, a lower-level guest suite with a kitchenette, a living area and a private deck.
The home was listed for under $4 million in July 2024 and was bought for an undisclosed price the same month.
A horse ranch

Redford listed another property in June 2021, this time a 30-acre horse ranch named after his 1998 movie 'The Horse Whisperer.' About 16 miles from Sundance, the property hit the market for $4.9 million and was sold in just eight days.
The ranch is on the northern edge of Deer Creek Reservoir and the Provo River and also offers views of Mount Timpanogos.
Home in California
A home away from Sundance was in Tiburon, California which Redford recently sold for $4.15 million in December 2024. Built in 1968, the house is 2,824 square feet and sits on the Tiburon Peninsula, overlooking the San Francisco Bay. It also has stunning views of Keil Cove and Angel Island.
The split-level cottage resides on a 0.2-acre lot and is tucked away in a cul-de-sac with minimal traffic, according to the listing agent Steven Mavromihalis of Compass. The home has a spacious living room, a two-car garage, a front and garden patio, and decks.
Bought for $3.1 million in 2020, it was sold for $4.65 million.

Redford also had a home in Napa Valley that he owned for 14 years before selling it in 2018 for $7.5 million. Known as Danza del Sol, the property had a main house, an artist's studio and a workshop at the time. The main house had 5,255 square feet of living space with three bedrooms and three and a half baths. It was sold in 2019 for $7 million.
