‘I booked it, it was free of cost’: Blinkit’s free ambulance reaches home during 4 am medical emergency

A recent Instagram video has been getting a lot of attention because it talks about one such moment. Shared by a Mumbai woman, the video explains how quickly help reached her family during a medical emergency and why that small support meant so much.Prachi, who lives in Mumbai, shared her experience on Instagram. She spoke about waking up to a worrying phone call from her parents in Delhi very early in the morning. It was around 4 am when they told her that her aunt, who was staying with them, had suddenly fallen ill.“It was one of the most difficult mornings I’ve had. I woke up at 4 in the morning to a call from my family in Delhi. I currently stay in Mumbai, and they told me that my aunt, who stays with us, was having a seizure, and they weren’t able to book a cab,” Prachi said in her Instagram video.Being in a different city, Prachi could only listen and try to help from far away.Prachi shared that her family tried booking a cab to take her aunt to the hospital. The cab was supposed to arrive in 15 minutes, but it kept getting delayed. With no clear update and time passing, the situation became more stressful for everyone at home.At this point, Prachi spoke to her husband, who reminded her about Blinkit’s ambulance service.Following his suggestion, Prachi opened the Blinkit app and booked an ambulance for her aunt in Delhi, even though she was sitting in Mumbai. The booking was quick and simple. What surprised her the most was that she did not have to pay anything.“There was this whole discretionary note saying, ‘Please use this service only if you actually need it,’ and as soon as I booked it, it was free of cost. I honestly wouldn’t have minded paying for the service because when a family member is in need, you really, really need help,” she said.Prachi also spoke about how the moment stayed with her emotionally. Not being able to be with her family during a medical emergency was hard, but arranging help made her feel a little less helpless.“I know we live in a very privileged world and often take things for granted, but the fact that there was an ambulance at my doorstep when I could not even be there, I felt that I could at least help my family a little during that time, even though I was in a completely different city,” she said.Disclaimer: This article is based on a viral video shared on social media.
