'Godfather of AI' reveals which jobs AI will definitely take over: "Matter of time"
If you work fast, AI is working faster. And it would do you real good to keep that in mind as you plan your future. Years ago, even the thought of artificial intelligence did not exist, and now the thought of a world without AI is incomprehensible.
Tech entrepreneurs have been investing a huge sum of money in accelerating the development of AI inventions in areas where human labour can be replaced for less time and money. In this case, there has been a heightened fear of job insecurity among employees of numerous industries, fearing if and when AI will replace their jobs and leave them to find another source of income.
Now, top Canadian computer scientist Yoshua Bengio has spoken about the jobs he thinks won't even exist in a couple of years.
Bengio is the most cited computer scientist in the world. He is most known for his pioneering work in deep learning, earning him the 2018 A.M. Turing Award, “the Nobel Prize of Computing,” with Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun: 'The 3 Godfathers of AI'. In a recent appearance on the Diary of a CEO, he shared the dark reality of the impact AI would have on the job market.
"It's more a matter of time than 'is it happening or not," he said to host Steven Bartlett. The cognitive jobs, ones you do behind keyboards, are at risk.
"Robotics is still lagging, though we're seeing progress, so if you do a physical job as Geoff Hinton is often saying 'you should be a plumber'," then it's gonna take more time, he added. "But I think it's only a temporary thing," he explained.
According to Bengio, the rise of AI could mean a lot more problems for us as an "AI with bad intentions could do a lot more damage if it can control robots in the physical world."
"AI is getting better at persuasion in more and more studies, but it's even easier if it can just hack robots to do things that you know would be bad for us," he warned.
The Microsoft list included the job titles of historians, interpreters and translators, writers and authors, telemarketers, mathematicians, hosts, data scientists, web developers, models, and many more. These are all jobs that people are studying and working hard for right now, and to think of the fact that they will not be available for humans in the coming years, is a nightmare that no one wishes comes true.

AI expert reveals which jobs AI will take over
The BBC reported recently that several companies had said that the 'new realities' of AI were behind the recent job layoffs. Additionally, Forbes predicted that in 2026, more of the human workforce will be replaced to cut down on costs.Bengio is the most cited computer scientist in the world. What lies ahead?
Thus, if yours is a job that can be done behind a screen, then worrying and making alternate plans is an ideal way forward. However, if you work in a sector that involves physical labour, then that's not as easily replaced. But yes, remember that it is going to happen eventually.According to Bengio, the rise of AI could mean a lot more problems for us as an "AI with bad intentions could do a lot more damage if it can control robots in the physical world."

Microsoft's list of jobs that will be replaced by AI
Numerous experts have warned that only a few jobs will be safe from AI in the next few years. Microsoft even released a list of 40 jobs that would be at a serious risk of eradication due to AI. "These types of jobs are by nature most likely to be replaced entirely by the tool," agreed AI researcher Xinrong Zhu, an assistant professor at Imperial College London.
