“Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi, Jassi?” Sanjana Ganesan’s takes a funny jab at Jasprit Bumrah through a viral 'Dhurandhar 2' dialogue
Social media loves a good mix of cinema, celebrity, and humour, especially when all three land in the same story.
The Dhurandhar fever has been sweeping through the audience, in India and worldwide, and some of the film’s dialogues have begun circulating far beyond the theatre and have become part of everyday jokes seamlessly.
Sanjana Ganesan, cricket presenter and pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, took a dig at her husband with one such meme from Dhurandhar.
Sanjana Ganesan has joined the online wave around Dhurandhar 2 by giving a funny twist to one of the film’s most talked-about dialogues. She used the viral line to make a playful joke about her husband’s idea of a boys’ night.
The dialogue in question, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi, Jassi?”, has already become a social media favourite, especially because of the way it plays out in the film.
Sanjana shared an Instagram story featuring a meme version of Pinda’s character, played by Udaybir Sandhu, with the caption, “Every time Jasprit thinks about planning a boys' night”. She then paired it with the viral line, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi tujhe, Jassi (Did you not remember home, Jassi)?”.
The joke clearly landed as a lighthearted marital tease rather than a serious comment. The post suggested that she was poking fun at the idea of Bumrah trying to slip away for a boys’ night, only to be reminded of home in the same playful tone the film made famous. Her laughing emojis added to the casual, good-natured mood of the story.
Dhurandhar 2 itself has been drawing major attention for its dramatic storytelling and action-heavy moments. The film follows Ranveer Singh’s character as he moves deeper into the world of espionage and underworld conflict, with the sequel showing how he is trained to become Hamza Ali Mazari. It also features an intense face-off between Arjun Rampal and Ranveer Singh, while the cast includes R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, and Sanjay Dutt.
The movie’s box office run has also helped keep it in the headlines. Dhurandhar 2 opened with a record ₹145 crore domestically and ₹240 crore gross worldwide, before reaching ₹900 crore worldwide overall.
