'Wish he was literally Hitler': Elon Musk’s SpaceX awards $1M to influencer who is a self-proclaimed 'Nazi'

Being a self-proclaimed Nazi is not going to get you banned from social media or shunned from public forums, it might rather get you a whopping $1 million prize award by none other than the richest man on Earth, Elon Musk.

On Tuesday, the billionaire's X (formerly known as Twitter), newly acquired by SpaceX, announced the winners of its '$1M Article Contest' with the prize going to a user named Beaver with the handle '@beaverd'.

What came to the minds of many and could be easily noticed through a scroll of his account is that the user is an out-and-out self-proclaimed white supremacist with over 100,000 followers. Interestingly, he also happens to be an X-user that Musk has interacted with numerous times in the past.

Awarding a 'Nazi'

There is everything in Beaver's profile that makes his views not only outrageous but also concerning for the current state of American society. As noticed by numerous other netizens, the winner's statements ranged from wishing US President Trump was 'literally Hitler' to antisemitic remarks against the Jews.

Reacting to a photo of Trump with Biden, the user wrote, 'God, I wish he was literally Hitler'. In another post, he wrote 'the jews gave me the stomach bug last night

Beaver, also happens to be a social-media hater of the Somalis, accusing them of having lower IQ than wild animals in one X post. Moreover, he runs a website that supposedly tracks government spending and fraud called 'SomaliScan' which has its own meme coin.

“I don't care what you call loving America,” Beaver fumed just a week before winning the prize. “If that's what a nazi does, then I am a nazi.”

Adding to his hand reaching out of the river swimming with right-identifying politics is a nod from X-owner Musk himself. In January, Musk appreciated Beaver's data shared from his SomaliScan website replying, "Wow."

Netizens enraged at SpaceX

Interestingly, one of the honourable mentions for the contest included right-wing YouTuber Nick Shirley who went viral for his videos allegedly exposing the day care 'frauds' in Minneapolis. Shirley also congratulated Beaver in the comments writing, "Congrats @beaverd well deserved! Grateful to have been selected as an honorable mention, X is becoming the future of for all producers whether it be articles, videos, or simple post."

However, many pointed out how the submission for the contest was not supposed to be 'political or religious' and Beaver's content was 'written by AI'.

'He is a racist nazi' pointed out on X user, sharing screenshots of the winner's posts.

'Remember the rules you set? Yet, the winner is a politically charged article. Cool.' added another.

'And the majority of it was written with Ai' added another revealing 66% of AI-generated text.

"Absolutely none of these are articles I would want to read. How ironic a few are far right leaning garbage," one responded.

A context for the contest

The winner of the contest is based primarily on "Verified Home Timeline impressions" as per X. This means people are being rewarded for engagement farming. Since right-wing content floats the X boat, there's no surprise that Beaver crossed the finishing line first.

His article starts with the surprising claim that “you were never meant to hear the name ‘Deloitte'” — despite the Deloitte in question being one of the largest and most well-known accounting firms in the world. He also capitalised on his winnings by coaxing his followers into signing up for a crypto casino. “I’m giving $25k of my million back to players who play under my [referral link],” he promised.

Considering the recent trend of performative males on social media and far-fetched efforts to gain clout in the right, the Beaver's comments tick every box. They hail Trump, live and breathe MAGA on X, and hate on communities such as the Jews and Somalis. What they lack is possibly the cash in hand to gain more popularity in the far-right influencer category which has recently become more competitive than American elections. But, the $1M prize, might just fix that.
