India, Pakistan, and South Asia: We usually trail by a day. In most parts of India and Pakistan, the moon sighting will happen on the evening of the 20th, making Eid Saturday, March 21.

The "Eidi" Hunt: If you are a kid (or even a student), this is the best part. You go around greeting elders, and in return, they tuck cash - Eidi - into your hand. It’s basically the Islamic version of a holiday bonus.
