Dick Van Dyke’s reaction to Donald Trump’s election win goes viral

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is set to return to the White House for the second term, and the world is eagerly waiting to learn more about his actions. American actor and comedian Dick Van Dyke aka Richard Wayne Van Dyke's reaction to Trump’s win is now taking the internet by storm.

The 98-year-old actor made quite a hilariously dark response to Trump’s win. When the Daily Mail, asked the ‘Mary Poppins’ actor if he thinks President-elect Donald Trump is actually “capable of making America great again?” he made a blunt response. Well, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who know him. In response to the question, the actor stated that , “Fortunately, I won’t be around to experience the four years.”

Dick Van Dyke was one of dozens of celebrities to endorse Kamala Harris and make their anti-Trump position clear, during the election campaign. A day prior to the voting, Dyke dropped a video on social media in which he read out a message written by The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, by referencing a speech he gave at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with Martin Luther King Jr. in 1964.

He said, “Hatred is not the norm. Prejudice is not the norm. Suspicion, dislike jealousy, scapegoating ― none of those are the transcendent facets of the human personality. They’re diseases. They are the cancers of the soul. They are the infectious and contagious viruses that have been bleeding humanity for years. And because they have been and because they are, is it necessary that they shall be? I think not.”

As Donald Trump is set to take his vows on the second term, the citizens are waiting to see if he sticks to his vision of sweeping changes in the US landscape. From the mass deportation of immigrants, immediate border closure, and settling the Russia-Ukraine war, there might be several plans for Trump's first day in office.
