The world of the ultra-rich often feels like an alternate universe, where opulence and extravagance are the norm. For someone, not familiar with this realm, the experience of going to parties hosted by these ultra-rich people can feel extremely overwhelming and surreal, with luxury and indulgence on display at every turn. This sentiment was felt by a Reddit user who “Got to witness a little bit of how the Top 1 percent lives in Delhi.”
The Redditor who goes by the name ‘alwayscorrectt’ explained how he tagged along with his father when the latter was invited by his Business partner on the eve of his birthday. The farmhouse was located in Chattarpur and was ‘heavily guarded’ and ‘very exclusive’. The Reddit user informed in his post that the guards checked their invitation as soon as they entered the place and even noted down the number and names to prevent anyone who was not invited from entering.
After they were allowed entry, the user noticed that the place was huge and beautiful. He remarked that every car that he came across, allegedly, cost, at least, more than 1 crore. The cars which included, Porsche, Defender, and GWagon Mercedes, made the Reddit user and his father feel as if they “came in the wrong car and were probably underdressed.”
In the following paragraphs, he described how everything was over the top from clothes to food to alcohol to decorations. He wrote, “We entered the party and they had hired 2 valets to park your car, decorations, people to welcome you and guide you, waiters, premium alcohol, an unimaginable variety of food and snacks.” The user remarked that the level of extravagance he witnessed at the event was unparalleled, surpassing anything he had ever experienced—even at the most lavish weddings.
Describing the kind of crowd at the birthday party, he exposed “how the Top 1 percent of Delhi lives.” The Redditor said that everyone at the party was a millionaire and was well-dressed. Their clothes, bags, and even watches all screamed rich. He further wrote, “Women were discussing their fashion designers and stylist who style them for every event. Everyone there was super gorgeous, every women in the party looked nothing less than a model or a Bollywood actress.”
At the end of his rant, the user said that the experience at the party was one that he will remember forever, but also emphasized a realization that, “People in Delhi live in 2 very different worlds honestly.”
