Content creator claims pani puri stall makes ₹10.8 lakh a year; internet reacts to the viral video
A simple pani puri stall has turned into an online sensation after a viral video claimed that the vendor earns around ₹90,000 per month, equating to roughly ₹10.8 lakh a year.
Shared by Instagram content creator Cassy Pareira, the clip shows a busy evening‑time street‑food setup where hundreds of customers line up for plates of pani puri, one of India’s most loved snacks.
The maths in the video quickly caught attention: if a stall sells about 80–100 plates daily at ₹30 each, the daily revenue comes to about ₹3,000, which can add up to a surprisingly high monthly figure.
“I am not gonna lie, I was kind of nervous at the beginning, but then I got used to it,” NDTV quoted him as saying. In the video, he is shown peeling potatoes, chopping onions, and serving pani puri to customers, getting a firsthand feel of the vendor’s work rhythm. From the daily ₹3,000, the video suggests that the monthly income could bw estimated around ₹90,000 and the annual figure could be close to ₹10.8 lakh, though it explicitly represents turnover, not profit after expenses.
One skeptical user mentioned, “He isn't the owner of the stall, he's a worker who gets paid daily wages,” and “90,000 is the revenue in a month. How much were the costs, and the remaining profit?” show that people are questioning the maths and the profit margin.
One user remarked, “No wonder. Hotels also make enormous profits, provided there's business, which depends on quality. If a person is sincere and hardworking in eateries bound to succeed beyond a salaried employee. It requires honesty and hard work. Why then are you glammmerd to go to USA? USA gains from Indians low paid employees, but yet USA does not understand their contributions to the success of the USA.”

Social media is full of praise and questions
On the clip, which crossed one million views and over 86,100 likes on Instagram, reactions are sharply split.
